What was then? What will be?
What is now? Can you see?

FORTUNES I

Rain is falling and I have been sent to pick up limbs
I clutch them to my chest and cast them away
Oracles that I cannot yet read

Petals of porcelain fall to the ground
Darkened leaves soaked and crushed
They smell exactly like sugared tea
I am in wonder
I am reclaimed
I am spirited to distant lands

I don't see the woman slip and fall
She is fine
She insists
She rests on the granite wall
Her dog sniffs at the green on my gloves

I return to my sidewalk divinations
